Review of Everest (Reading)
Everest Reading opened in 2013. It is easily accessible as it is located to the south of the town centre, near to Junction 11 of the M4. It is set on one level, and offers 50,000 sq ft of net technical space across five data halls. It can hold up to 1,000 cabinets, which makes it the largest data centre in Reading. Everest supports a range of hosting companies (who mostly take large suites in the data centre) as well as individual colocation clients.
The site is manned 24/7 and has an excellent, highly knowledgeable on-site support team (which is especially useful for overseas based customers).
We offer our usual mix of dedicated quarter and half racks in Everest (Reading). Our typical customers here are enterprise users based along the M4 corridor. We also offer full racks with power densities of 3.5kW/16Amps or more. Out of all our 12 London data centres, some of our lowest prices per kW are available here.
With Everest Reading being ‘on-net’ with Crosspoint, our full suite of connectivity solutions is available. Competitive pricing applies across our entire network. This means our customers can avoid paying premium prices for bandwidth at data centres outside of central London.
A growing number of Crosspoint’s Telehouse customers are using our racks in Everest to house high-power equipment where we can offer up to 7kW or 30Amps per cabinet. With both sites linked via Crosspoint’s network, customers can maintain a much smaller point of presence in Telehouse. This makes for an easy dual site deployment and is the ideal way to take advantage of the attractive commercial terms on offer.
